ARCHIVAL RESEARCH & PROVENANCE CONSULTATION
For more than four decades, our archives have documented the passage of countless works of art originating from Africa, Oceania, and the Americas. These records—assembled in the course of building both private and public collections—constitute a unique historical resource for the study and understanding of Extra-European art.
In response to the growing number of requests from collectors, auction houses, and cultural institutions seeking to confirm provenance or acquisition details, we have now established a dedicated Archival Research Service.
This service provides access to our documentation and expertise for the purpose of verifying provenance, acquisition history, and related scholarly information concerning works that have passed through our hands or been recorded in our archives.
Basic provenance verification: €250 (confirmation of presence in archives, with available reference details)
Extended research: from €500 (in-depth consultation of written and photographic records, cross-referencing, and formal report where applicable)
All research is carried out personally and confidentially. Requests are processed in the order in which they are received.
To initiate a request, please send:
– Photographs of the object (front, back, details)
– Any available documentation or references
– The name of the collector, sale, or institution involved (if applicable)
