DELETAILLE GALLERY AT BRUSSELS ART SQUARE
Early Sculptures from the 1950s-1960s
From September 20 to October 5, 2019
Opening on September 19 from 5 PM to 9 PM
The Deletaille Gallery is pleased to announce their first participation in Brussels Art Square. On this occasion we are delighted to invite Pangolin London, one of the foremost galleries dedicated to producing and exhibiting sculpture.
Through their innovative program, including a foundry, Pangolin London has produced the work of cutting edge contemporary artists as well as historical British and European sculptors. Among them is Olivier Strebelle, a Belgian national treasure.
For the 2019 edition of BAS, the Deletaille Gallery will be curating an exhibition aimed at creating a synergy between Pangolin’s home-based artists such as Lynn Chadwick, Ralph Brown, Geoffrey Clarke and the early work of Strebelle, highlighting different visions of three-dimensional objects, their mutual influences and esthetic affinities.
Bringing to life a thrilling project initiated by the artist himself around 2010, we will be showing some of Strebelle’s previously unedited works from the fifties and the sixties. This will be an unprecedented opportunity to explore this crucial period that exemplifies the passage of the use of clay as a medium towards stainless steel and bronze.
HÉLÈNE DE GOTTAL – MÉTAMORPHOSES
Next october, the Lin Deletaille Gallery will set up Hélène de Gottal's first solo show, Métamorphoses. The exhibition will be held in two places and in two stages. From October 10th to November 9th, the gallery will house a series of recent works by the artist; from October 24th to 27th, we will present the paper work of Hélène de Gottal at BOZAR on the occasion of Art on Paper, Brussels contemporary drawing fair.
